Hi, and welcome to the third Orpheus newsletter.
Sorry for the long delay between the last newsletter and this one, but as you're no doubt aware, I've been waiting for the bank to sort out all the paperwork regarding the new Orpheus bank account.
I won't have too much of a moan at the bank, as I'm sure most of you are aware of what banks are like anyway, but suffice to say, I've been phoning them every day in the past week, and it finally looks like they've received all the paperwork they require and are currently opening the account. Whilst I was assured that this takes no more than 48 hours (on Monday), I'm assuming that I'll have to leave it in the hands of the postman to actually get me the account details etc.
However, I'm optimistic that I'll finally have everything I require this week, which means I can immediately get on the case regarding migrating Argonet ADSL accounts over, many of which I'm aware are fairly time critical.
I'm pretty confident, I'll be able to contact all ADSL customers within the next week to arrange for their migration to Orpheus.
I'm also confident that we'll be able to migrate over most other subscribers by the end of April, ensuring a smooth transition before the closure of Argonet on June 30th.
All other services are coming along nicely and we can now offer email and web hosting facilities, so literally the only hold-up was waiting for the bank paperwork.
I also have a support telephone line installed, and I'm just waiting for the number to be assigned, so that I can update the support webpages with the details.
For emergency use, I've got a mobile number on which Orpheus subscribers can contact me outside normal office hours, or even SMS me. The number is 07913 398 001 - but please keep it to emergency use. :-)
We shall also be attending the forthcoming Wakefield RISC OS Show on the 21st/22nd May, so I look forward to seeing many of you there. We're on stand 18 so come and say "Hi".
